Mojo Monday’s

Alright, already! You win!! What, you ask??????

The peeps have literally been flooding us with questions about how authors are inspired, where do they find their muse, and how they communicate a story to make it successful in the eyes, minds, and hearts of the readers.  It touches me to see how the people are genuinely curious about a book’s origin…. And they want to get to know the person behind the pen. So, without further adieu, we at Breanna Hayse Romance bring to you (drumroll, please)

MOJO MONDAY’S!

So, in the tradition of our age play element, grab your teapot and pour yourself a Cup O’Tea and a couple of cookies, and let’s get inside the heads of your favorite authors.

I want to introduce Abbie Adams to you. She is one of my closest and dearest friends who finally stomped her little foot and said, I am gonna write this! Still at Number One Best Seller for Blushing Books….

Please say hello to Abbie Adams, Author of A Little Training! Please give her a round of applause and a hearty congratulations on such a longstanding placement on Blushing Seller list.

Bree: Welcome Abbie, thank you so much for stopping by today.
Abbie: Uh UH! No, Thank you. For letting me be here.. If it weren’t for you I never would have accepted my inner- little girl as a normal part of myself. Well, Maybe I still haven’t totally accepted it- but I’m getting closer. And, well I wanted to say thank you anyway for the way you write with a goal- of educating people. You really help individuals to understand themselves and grow. I remember being afraid to even visit your blog, afraid to comment. I held my breath as I sent the first hesitant email to you. You responded right away and continued to talk me off the edge so many times in the past year. I don’t know what I would do without you, Nikki and even SJ. Thank you for everything.
Bree: You are so welcome. I am doing what I love and I am so humbled when I hear that I am truly helping others navigate through this lifestyle.
Bree: What inspired you to write A Little Training?
Abbie: A Little Training has always been there in my head; a fantasy if you will. I had to get it out, somehow… of course, I have added to it over the years and it has changed course from the innocent way it started out a long time ago.
Bree: What was the hardest part of writing this book?
Abbie:  Uhm, not weirding myself out and stunting my own growth? Does that even make sense? I mean being afraid to share the deepest parts of my mind with my readers. Yeah, I got some freaky stuff in there. Sometimes, I am afraid to really write what comes to mind. I have to let go and get past that.
Bree: Absolutely Abbie. And writing a book like this one can be difficult. Especially when you are sharing your deepest fantasy’s.
Bree: How did you come up with the title?
Abbie: Well, I had a few in mind. This one was quite simple. There is nothing quite like having a Dominant man looking down on you with “The Look” and an “I don’t want to hear another word- “little girl.” Who doesn’t want to be called little?  Now the training part of the title, well that just goes with the plot, although I don’t feel that a lot of formal training goes on. It is more like an informal training of just letting go.
Bree: How does it feel to be number one on Blushing Books web site for so long?
Abbie: Wow, it still surprises me. I keep waiting for it to fall off. I don’t know why it stays there.
Bree: Sweetheart, it is staying there because it is such a tasty treat! Enjoy the ride!
Bree: How do you rate success?
Abbie: That is a very hard question to answer. Seeing my book go number one doesn’t mean “Hey, I’m so popular!” It means that these people totally got something out of this book. They understood me. They related to the struggle of my characters. I had a really hard time letting this story out, and this going to the top of the chart  means it was good that I let it out, and maybe somebody else relates.
Bree:If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
Abbie: Yes, I would rework the sex scene. Somehow, I made it out to be a punishment for the girls and I really didn’t intend for that. It was going to happen, it was just brought on sooner by Caity’s actions. But, it was never meant as a punishment.
Also, I think I would have taken more time with some of the explanation or feelings with the changes to the little girls kitty’s. Many of my readers have expressed concern over it and I can understand it. It is very different from anything I have ever heard of before. However, I know it is very popular for women and men alike to buy creams to alter their size. Women always want to be tighter and men always want to be bigger.
The desire is there in women to have to stretch and have discomfort to take a man into her. Men have the same desire to know that a woman is tight, and has to stretch to accept him. Women also want at times to be taken against their will, this is a natural desire. These are the things I was reaching for in this area of my fantasy. I hope I will be able to express that better in the next book.
Bree: What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write and why?
Abbie: I don’t want to give anything away but I think it has to be when that bratty Sara gets her just desserts.
Bree: Yea, Nikki and I liked that part as well 😉
Bree: Where do you get your ideas for your books?
Abbie:Well, you take a little of this and a little of that and you mix it in the bowl… No, I don’t know where it comes from. Ideas just come- from everyday life, things that happen around me. Dreams that I have, I do a lot of pondering, what if this happened? Or what if that? I don’t use an outline for the most part my books start with a single thought, or plot element and develop into one favorite scene. Then I decide where that will fit into a story and plug away from there.
Bree: When did you first consider yourself a writer?
Abbie: I don’t know. Sometimes I still don’t feel like a writer. When I read some of my friend’s books, I think- OMG, I should just give up. They are so much more talented than I am. I know I write, I even have an office, and my hubby is amazingly supportive… but most of the time I still don’t feel like an author, a writer yes, an author no… someone provide the difference for me please. Maybe it’s when I get rich?
Bree: Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
Abbie: Letting go, getting rid of the insecurities… you didn’t catch that already did you? No, seriously. Just writing for my own enjoyment and not worrying about the rest. I think I worry so much and when I let go, is when I actually write better, go figure.
Another bigger challenge is time. Yes, my family is supportive but life tends to get in the way. Not just the other job but well there are children’s functions, holidays, sicknesses, and even deaths in the family. Life goes on and doesn’t care that you need to write.
Bree: What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author? What has been the best compliment?
Abbie: Hmmm- I get a lot of comments about the endings. I always chalk it up to the fact I am writing a series. I try very hard to answer/solve the main issue of that book, but leave stuff for the series to go on. The problem I have is that people say the ending is abrupt. I don’t know if that is good or bad. I try to fill the story right up. I mean I have an outline of sorts of what I want to happen in each book, so when it ends and it seems to be cut off- there is another story to be told. Maybe I still need to find a better way to do this.
The best compliment- probably that my stories are so real, down to earth. You can get into the characters and feel what they feel.
Bree:What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
Abbie:  Eat Oreos and read in a bubble bath.
Bree: If you couldn’t be an author, what would your ideal career be?
Abbie: An editor, Literary Agent, some other part of book marketing.
Bree: What childish things do you still do as adult?
Abbie: Get spanked. LOL, no seriously, I whine… I love popsicles, and coloring, and play-doh- who doesn’t love that stuff?
Crayons or Markers? Markers, I love those fuzzy velvet art posters and crayons just won’t do it. There is nothing like the deep color you get from markers. But, I won’t turn down crayons if that is all you have.
Bree: If you were five what would you read next?
Abbie: Junie B. Jones! I love that series… Wait can normal five year olds read those? Ok hang on…
I’m thinking it would have to be a Dr. Suess, Are you my Mother, Red Fish Blue Fish, In a People House.
Oh but I really like If you give a Moose a Muffin… And Bear Snores on… Dang can I pick more than one?
Bree:If you could eliminate one thing from your daily schedule, what would it be and why?
Abbie: Going to the bathroom for sure… what a waste of time.
Bree: Do you have any advice for other writers?
Abbie: Just don’t be afraid to tell your story. Stop procrastinating and write it. If you are writing already, let loose, write for yourself and don’t worry what others will think, most of the time more people will love you for being real.
Thank you so much Abbie for stopping by and taking the time to answer our questions. A Little Training can be purchased on Blushing Books or Amazon. Check it out if you haven’t already. We loved it!

  1. Abbie, I really loved the book. I have read other age play books but sometimes they didn’t really do much for me. I could totally picture myself as one of your characters (like Alivia). I hope that you do a series on this because I would love to see what happens to all of the girls and where the relationship goes with Daddy and Alivia. Where do the other girls go? Can they have their own stories too.
What I like the most is that the feelings that were expressed by your main character were realistic. Her anger over no coffee or the mistreatment of her friend. How she was so curious and sought out answers and whys.
I think that I would love all the pampering and being taken care of but I don’t know if I could really be Daddy’s little girl at this stage of my life. Hmmm…. Wonder what Ty would say if I asked him to be my Daddy? Ya think he might wash and brush my hair for me?
    Great job Abbie!

    • Well that didn’t work so great. No book and he said go ahead and throw one. 🙁

I do swear to you Abbie I will try my hardest to earn your book though, lol. So want to read it.

      • Lily, your Daddy sounds like he is a meanie. Our Daddy always lets us buy books. Doesn’t he know that reading is fundamental?

        love nikki

  2. Such a fun interview. Well I definitely need to move this to the top of my list. I read the sample off amazon. Bad move. Now I want to get it but can’t. Fingers crossed I can read this bad boy in the next week. 🙂

  3. Abbie, enjoyed the interview! I wanted to tell you that age play was always a vague blip on my radar, didn’t think I’d find it interesting so never gave it any thought.

Then I read your and Bree’s stories. 🙂

It’s a most enticing concept…to be taken and sheltered in such warm, competent hands, no decisions to make what.so.ever, to completely and totally 100% let go. I can certainly understand why your book is still at #1. Congrats! And looking forward to more.

  4. Hi to both of you lovely writers, This post cleared up my anxiety over the end in your book Abby, which I was not totally happy with. I very much enjoyed reading how and what you actually thought about your book and how you bravely shared your wishes and fantasies with us. I was a meanie and gave you a very bad reviews based on My perception of your book. For your honesty, bravery I’ll change it to a 5 star one instead, and also because I liked your writing just not the end. Now I’ll continue to by your book since I’m more educate lol. Don’t quite writing or dreaming and thanks for explaining to us! Happy writings! Best wishes on your onward career as writer. C. StP.

    • Awww, Thank you C. StP. You don’t have to change anything, but I am glad that I made sense. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and taking the time to comment or send in reviews, we don’t grow if readers don’t give us their feedback.

  5. Love this! I think it’s a great idea and I’ve already bought this book. Now I just have to get through work so I can read it 🙂

  6. Again Bree, Thank you so much for introducing me- for letting me on your stage… I love ya bunches. It was so much fun to do these questions. I hope if anyone else has any other questions they feel free to ask. Abbie. <3
